Christopher Haase and Gianni Morbidelli are the first point leaders in the ADAC GT Masters. With victory in the first race and second position in the second race, the Reiter Engineering duo collected enough points to lead the point table of the new GT3 championship. Wolfgang Kaufmann and Alexander van der Lof secured the second win for Lamborghini with their ARGO Gallardo.

Seven Gallardo GT3 took part at the debut of the ADAC GT Masters, which took place at the Nuerburgring Grand-Prix circuit. The programme of the 35th edition of the ADAC Zurich 24hrs race showed two 60-minutes races. Reiter Engineering itself brought three Gallardo of their own plus a customer car to the track with the following drivers:

- Peter Kox / Albert von Thurn und Taxis (#6)
- Christopher Haase / Gianni Morbidelli (#7)
- Stephano Gabellini / Achim Winter (#8)
- Marius Ritskes / Jeroen Bleekemolen (#53)

Additional customer cars were prepared by ARGO Racing, ALL-INKL.COM Racing and Waiblinger Motorsport Club. This cars also had top-class driver pairings.

- ARGO: Wolfgang Kaufmann / Alexander van der Lof (#1)
- ALL-INKL.COM: Christophe Bouchut / René Münnich (#10)
- Waiblinger Motorsport Club: Andreas Teichmann / Benjamin Leuenberger (#9)

Already in free practice on early Thursday morning the Lamborghini drivers showed a lot potential on the 5,1 kilometres long Nuerburgring. Ritskes / Bleekemolen drove the best lap times in both free sessions.

But the two qualifying sessions were much more important than the free practice, because then the decision about the starting grids were taken. In the first 20 minutes long practice, the amateur part of each team had to fight for glory, in the second one the professional drives were at the wheel.

The first qualifying practice saw three Lamborghini Gallardo in front of the field. Christopher Haase secured Pole Position with a lap time of 1.48,453 minutes. In second position, Alexander van der Lof qualified the ARGO car, Albert von Thurn und Taxis was third. They beat strong opponent cars like Ferrari 430 Challenge GT3, Porsche 997 GT3-Cup, Corvette Z06 and Dodge Viper.

Even more impressive was the result of the second qualifying. Five Lamborghini Gallardo stayed in the first five starting places! This time, Jeroen Bleekemolen set the best lap time with a very small gap between him and Gianni Morbidelli and Peter Kox. Only 49 thousands of a second was the difference between first an third place. Christophe Bouchut and Wolfgang Kaufmann completed this good result with fourth and fifth fastest times.

First Race:
Christopher Haase and Gianni Morbidelli were the dominating driver pairing in the first race of the ADAC GT Masters. Haase secured his pole position with a good start and led the race until the first obligatory pit stop for the driver change. Morbidelli went back on track in second position, right behind the leading Porsche. But the Italian with lots of Formula One experience could start a good fight and overtook the Porsche in the last part of the 60 minutes race. As the chequered flag was shown, Morbidelli had build up a gap of more than six seconds.  Also Wolfgang Kaufmann and Alexander van der Lof finished the race on the podium with third place overall.

Second Race:
Again the Lamborghini Gallardo were the cars to beat in the second heat. Jeroen Bleekemolen (#53) and Gianni Morbidelli (#7) dominated the first half of the race. Morbidelli took the lead after the green flag was shown, but after four laps Bleekemolen overtook him for first place. Even after the obligatory pit stops these tow Gallardo were in the leading positions. Christopher Haase overtook Ritskes and again looked like the winner.
But a stop-and-go-penalty, which was shown to a big number of the top cars in the race, ended all his hopes for a second victory.

The penalty was shown by the stewards because of lower definition of the minimum pit stop time (1 minute and 15 seconds).  Problems with the internal time keeping were the reason for this failure by the Lamborghini drivers.

Only Wolfgang Kaufmann and Alexander van der Lof, who always were within the first four places, could avoid a penalty und took the leading positions as the other cars had to visit the stewards in the pit lane for their stop-and-go. After a racing break of seven years, Alexander van der Lof managed his lead very confident and took the second win for Lamborghini this weekend. Haase / Morbidelli came home in second, Ritskes / Bleekemolen in third position.

Result race two:
1. Kaufmann / Van der Lof – ARGO Lamborghini Gallardo

Bleekemolen / Ritskes got no points because of their guest entry.
