FIA GT1 : No points for ALL-INKL.COM Reiter in Monza

For ALL-INKL.COM Reiter the fourth weekend of the FIA-GT Championship started better than expected. Although the fastest track in the schedule hadn’t suited the Murciélago R-GT in the past, Peter Kox qualified the #8 Lamborghini on the first row of the grid for Sunday’s race. Just for Monza, Reiter Engineering produced a new aerodynamic package with new splitters and floor, which worked perfectly.
But Kox unfortunately couldn´t use his second place start position as, due to a mistake by the team, the size of the rear wing was found to be slightly outside the legal limits. So the #8 was sent to the back of the grid.

From there, Peter Kox made his way impressively through the field and was up to tenth place by the end of his stint. Jos Menten then took over, and was unlucky to lose two laps after a spin, but he recovered well. As the chequered flag was shown, Peter Kox and Jos Menten finished in tenth position overall.

There was even more bad luck for the championship leaders, Christophe Bouchut and Stefan Muecke. After a scrutineering infringement at the of qualifying (the car was pushed by team members into Parc Fermé instead of entering under its own steam) they also had to start at the back of the grid.
The #7 car’s race itself ended early after Bouchut’s first stint with a broken cylinder head gasket . Bouchut / Muecke consequently have moved back in the point tables to fourth place, but are able to keep in contact with the new leader Thomas Biagi because of their good results in the first three races. They are now only three points behind Biagi.

The results from Monza:
1. Wendlinger / Sharp – Aston Martin DBR9
2. Montanari / Ramos – Maserati MC12
3. Hezemans – Deletraz – Corvette C6.R

8. Piccini / Bertolini – Maserati MC12
9. Pier-Guidi / Giannocaro – Maserati MC12
