Piers Johnson and Adam Jones started their 2008 British GT Championship campaign with the fastest time in the opening practice session. They beat the best Ferrari of Lester / Simonsen by more than a second. Qualifying for the first race proved once again just how closely matched the GT3 field is - fifth position on the grid for Oliver Morley (Tech9 Gallardo), 14th for Piers Johnson (Team Modena Gallardo).

Tom Ferrier improved the result in second practice; the Tech9 driver took second place on the grid for race two with a time only six tenths off the pole time. Adam Jones put his Gallardo in seventh place.

The first race on Easter Sunday started dramatically. On the first lap Piers Johnson was forced onto the grass during the wheel to wheel action and had a colossal accident in his Gallardo. Johnson was unhurt, but the weekend was over for the Team Modena Gallardo. Oliver Morley in the surviving Gallardo fought his way up to 3rd place before a safety car period interrupted proceedings following an accident in the GT4 class.

After the race was restarted and the round of mandatory pit stops finished the Tech9 Gallardo was still in third place. A faulty fuel pump fuse on the eleventh of seventeen laps dropped Ferrier / Morley back to 20th position.

Race two on Monday was much more successful. Ferrier / Morley held second place from the start. After the mandatory pit stops a tough battle raged at the head of the field, six laps before the finish Ferrier / Morley were able to break away and duly recorded their first win in the British GT Championship. They crossed the line only one second in front of the fastest Ferrari team after 35 laps in Oulton Park.
