French GT: Two wins in Albi
The penultimate round of the French GT Championship was also on the agenda. In qualifying the Ruffier Racing and First Racing squads were hot on the heels of the favourite Ferrari and Dodge entries. However, the races would tell a different story.
Ruffier / Peyrolles did not only win the GT3 class, but they also took their Gallardo into the top-ten among the supposedly faster GT1 and GT2 cars. Leclerc / Tuchbant (First Racing) completed the GT3 class podium in third place ahead of Cabanne / Helary in fourth place.
The result in Sunday’s second race was even more dominant. Ruffier / Peyroles won again in the GT3 class and finished an incredible seventh overall. Tuchbant / Leclerc improved in the 54-minute race to second and, in doing so, gave the Lamborghini camp reason to celebrate. Briche / Dubreuil took the chequered flag in fourth place in their First Racing Gallardo.
Two Lamborghini crews now occupy the top-two positions in the championship, which concludes at Magny Cours in the middle of October.
