The Lamborghini GT3 teams concluded the International GT Open Series finale at Barcelona brilliantly with a brace of one-two finishes.

David Tuchbant and Arnaud Peyrolles in the First Racing Gallardo dominated Saturday’s dry race ahead of fellow Lamborghini drivers Enrico Moncada / Fabrizio Armetta (MIK Corse) and the Ferrari of Savary / Ricci. Other Gallardos finished the ProAm race in positions 6, 8, 9 and 11.

The second race of the weekend held on Sunday was significantly more demanding. Pouring rain quite literally turned the “Circuit Catalunya” into a skating rink. However, the Lamborghini Gallardo GT3 drivers were not overawed. While the competition from Ferrari was left floundering in the ever increasing rain, the Gallardo improved on its result from the previous day. All three podium positions went to Lamborghini drivers!

This time it was the turn of Team MIK Corse with drivers Giacomo Piccini / Ferdinando Geri and Beniamio Caccia / Lorenzo Bontempelli who claimed the one-two. Georges Cabanes / Eric Helary completed the podium. GT3 Gallardos also finished in positions 5 to 7.
