BLANCPAIN RACING TAKES COMMANDING WIN WITH GALLARDO R-EX AN ROAD AMERICA

Gallardo-REX-Blancpain-Rainc-victory-USA

Tomas Enge wins the eleventh Pirelli World Challenge race at Road America.
Tomas Enge’s comeback in the Pirelli World Challenge could hardly have been better. Enge contested several races in the US GT series during the 2014 season, including the Road American track in Elkhart Lake. A year ago, the two sprint races brought 9th and 16th positions. Enge and Reiter Engineering thus had a score to settle.
Free practice started promisingly for the Blancpain Racing Gallardo with the seventh fastest lap in the large GT field. However, an accident that seriously affected the Gallardo initially put a damper on proceedings. However, the entire Blancpain Racing crew didn’t give up and rebuilt ‘R-EX’ overnight for the important qualifying session.
Qualifying then showed how superbly the team had worked.

ZaWotec win race 1 of GT4 Series at the Red Bull Ring, twin wins in the amateur class for Uckermann.
Following the victorious debut of the Reiter Engineering developed KTM X-Bow GT4 in the GT4 Series at Zandvoort and the subsequent balance of performance tests at the same venues, the rule makers made changes in a few areas. As a result, the power of the X-Bow GT4 was reduced further, the weight and ride-height increased.
However, the driver duo Peter Ebner / Sascha Halek as well as lone driver Daniel Uckermann rapidly got to grips with the car’s new characteristics around the 4.3 kilometre track in Spielberg, Austria, and quickly matched the leading times. This was particularly clear in first qualifying when Peter Ebner and Daniel Uckermann claimed the front row for race 1 on Sunday morning.
Ebner dominated the first half of the race before handing over the #15 KTM X-BOW GT4 with a solid lead to Sascha Halek, who increased this to almost 7.5 seconds, and in doing so secured a commanding start-finish victory. Uckermann dropped back after the start, but worked his way forward consistently throughout the 50-minute race. Uckermann finally took the chequered flag in fourth place overall, which also meant victory in the AM class.

Reiter-Gallardo-REX-side-BSS-Zolder

No easy weekend for Albert von Thurn und Taxis / Peter Kox in the Blancpain Sprint Series.
With ambient temperatures reaching 34 degrees at Zolder, conditions were tricky as the third Blancpain Sprint Series weekend started. Nevertheless, Albert von Thurn und Taxis / Peter Kox completed 65 laps in free practice to set-up the Gallardo R-EX from Reiter Engineering perfectly for qualifying and the race.
For qualifying on Saturday, temperatures were a little cooler at around 21 degrees, but braking problems prevented the duo making the cut for third qualifying where the top 10 grid positions are determined. This meant starting from 13th position for Saturday afternoon’s qualifying race.
Peter Kox made a good start in the Gallardo R-EX and made up two places on the opening lap. However, just before the end of the lap, Kox was knocked into a spin by a competitor. Kox re-joined in 15th place and set about chasing down the field. The Dutchman made up one position before the mandatory pit stops approached. Thanks to changing tactics at short notice during the pit stop, Reiter Engineering made up two positions in pit lane, so that Albert von Thurn und Taxis was classified in 12th position after his first lap.
von Thurn und Taxis defended 12th position and was able

With 1.30,144 minutes the Gallardo was on provisional pole after his second fast lap. What everybody thought was impossible Enge proved wrong with his last lap and broke the time of 1.30 minutes. Thanks to a time of 1.29,909 minutes the pole was finally save.

BLANCPAIN RACING ROBBED OF POTENTIAL VICTORY IN PIRELLI WORLD CHALLENGE AT BARBER

reiter-gallardo-rex-catsburg-pwc-barber-2nd

Reckless competitor forces Nick Catsburg and the Gallardo R-EX into gravel on the first lap.

An old proverb says that to finish first, first you have to finish. Unfortunately, a competitor in the Pirelli World Challenge field at Barber Motorsports Park chose to ignore these words of wisdom, and ended Nick Catsburg’s race early. The Blancpain Racing driver, who started the race from the front row, was looking to repeat the second place from the previous day. However, on only the second lap a competitor pushed another car into the Gallardo R-EX, which meant Catsburg had to drive through the gravel bed before returning to the pits to retire with damage to the rear right.

Blancpain Racing and Reiter Engineering now have about two weeks to repair the Gallardo R-EX and to travel to the next Pirelli World Challenge event at the Canadian Tire Motorsports Park in Bowmanville.

Third podium finish in the Pirelli World Challenge for Blancpain Racing

Nick Catsburg brings Blancpain Racing Gallardo R-EX home in 2nd place at Barber Motorsports Park.

Blancpain Racing driver Nick Catsburg pulled away from the main field in a group of three immediately after the start. He easily defended his second place in qualifying and put the leader constantly under pressure. Catsburg kept his cool during various safety car phases in the 50-miunte race. At the re-starts, the Dutchman cleverly exploited the strengths of his Gallardo GT3 R-EX and continued his hunt for first place.

As the leaders began lapping the slower cars on lap 11, Catsburg clawed his way closer to the leader and, with only five minutes left to run, put himself in a perfect position to overtake.

GT SPORTS CLUB DEBUT WITH GOOD RESULTS FOR GALLARDO TEAMS

Gallardo-REX-sports-Club-Barcelona

Stephane Ratel has yet another GT race series in his portfolio in the form of the GT Sports Club. Conceived for drivers with FIA bronze classification and staged on internationally renowned race track. Reiter Engineering is also involved in the GT Sports Club and brought a Gallardo R-EX to the premiere of racing series in Spanish Barcelona for budding talent Naomi Schiff. A second FL2 GT3 version of the Gallardo was fielded by the customer team NSC Motorsport for Thierry Verstraete.

The GT Sports Club lives from its lean format in which free practice, qualifying and two races of 25 and 40 minutes are completed within 24 hours. As a result, only a few laps were available to get to grips with the Circuit Catalunya. However, both Naomi Schiff and Thierry Verstraete set good lap times.

Things got serious for the first time on Saturday afternoon with the 25-minute qualifying race.
