Nick Catsburg and Albert von Thurn und Taxis claim first victory for the Gallardo R-EX in the Blancpain Sprint Series.
High summer temperatures of around 30 degrees made Reiter Engineering’s outing in the Blancpain Sprint Series in Moscow far from easy. A busy schedule compressed into just two days didn’t help matters either. However, from first free practice the team from Kirchanschöring concentrated on working on the Gallardo R-EX set-up with drivers Nick Catsburg and Albert von Thurn und Taxis.
Catsburg / von Thurn und Taxis were among the top 5 in every session, a perfect position for the all-important qualifying session. Albert von Thurn und Taxis completed the first qualifying session and drove just one fast lap. Nick Catsburg ensured that the team would make the cut for third qualifying after he recorded the first lap in his qualifying segment.
Catsburg then clinched his Reiter Engineering team’s long awaited pole position in the Blancpain GT Series by more than one tenth of second. The Dutchman would be the start driver for the weekend’s first race.
Catsburg left no doubt about his intentions.

Tomas Enge wins the eleventh Pirelli World Challenge race at Road America.
Tomas Enge’s comeback in the Pirelli World Challenge could hardly have been better. Enge contested several races in the US GT series during the 2014 season, including the Road American track in Elkhart Lake. A year ago, the two sprint races brought 9th and 16th positions. Enge and Reiter Engineering thus had a score to settle.
Free practice started promisingly for the Blancpain Racing Gallardo with the seventh fastest lap in the large GT field. However, an accident that seriously affected the Gallardo initially put a damper on proceedings. However, the entire Blancpain Racing crew didn’t give up and rebuilt ‘R-EX’ overnight for the important qualifying session.
Qualifying then showed how superbly the team had worked.

ZaWotec win race 1 of GT4 Series at the Red Bull Ring, twin wins in the amateur class for Uckermann.
Following the victorious debut of the Reiter Engineering developed KTM X-Bow GT4 in the GT4 Series at Zandvoort and the subsequent balance of performance tests at the same venues, the rule makers made changes in a few areas. As a result, the power of the X-Bow GT4 was reduced further, the weight and ride-height increased.
However, the driver duo Peter Ebner / Sascha Halek as well as lone driver Daniel Uckermann rapidly got to grips with the car’s new characteristics around the 4.3 kilometre track in Spielberg, Austria, and quickly matched the leading times. This was particularly clear in first qualifying when Peter Ebner and Daniel Uckermann claimed the front row for race 1 on Sunday morning.
Ebner dominated the first half of the race before handing over the #15 KTM X-BOW GT4 with a solid lead to Sascha Halek, who increased this to almost 7.5 seconds, and in doing so secured a commanding start-finish victory. Uckermann dropped back after the start, but worked his way forward consistently throughout the 50-minute race. Uckermann finally took the chequered flag in fourth place overall, which also meant victory in the AM class.

Reiter-Gallardo-REX-side-BSS-Zolder

No easy weekend for Albert von Thurn und Taxis / Peter Kox in the Blancpain Sprint Series.
With ambient temperatures reaching 34 degrees at Zolder, conditions were tricky as the third Blancpain Sprint Series weekend started. Nevertheless, Albert von Thurn und Taxis / Peter Kox completed 65 laps in free practice to set-up the Gallardo R-EX from Reiter Engineering perfectly for qualifying and the race.
For qualifying on Saturday, temperatures were a little cooler at around 21 degrees, but braking problems prevented the duo making the cut for third qualifying where the top 10 grid positions are determined. This meant starting from 13th position for Saturday afternoon’s qualifying race.
Peter Kox made a good start in the Gallardo R-EX and made up two places on the opening lap. However, just before the end of the lap, Kox was knocked into a spin by a competitor. Kox re-joined in 15th place and set about chasing down the field. The Dutchman made up one position before the mandatory pit stops approached. Thanks to changing tactics at short notice during the pit stop, Reiter Engineering made up two positions in pit lane, so that Albert von Thurn und Taxis was classified in 12th position after his first lap.
von Thurn und Taxis defended 12th position and was able
