Henry Hassid achieved two top 10 positions in the GT-A category during his debut in the Gallardo R-EX. Nick Catsburg scored P4 and P8 in the Gallardo FL2 GT3.
The venue of the Pirelli World Challenge added atmosphere to the racing and its visitors with special conditions on the past weekend: Miller Motorsports Park is located at more than 1,500 meters altitude in close proximity to the salt lakes in Utah. In August temperatures reach more than 30 degrees Celsius. Very challenging conditions for man and machine.
Conditions for making one’s debut could have been easier… But nevertheless a new driver, for Reiter Engineering’s customer team Blancpain Racing, was up for the challenge. Henry Hassid entered the cockpit of the new Gallardo R-EX for the first time at Miller Motorsports Park and competed in the GT-A class of Pirelli World Challenge. Hassid has been involved in motorsports since the year 2000 and brings a lot of experience as well as some success in GT sports: In 2012 he won the French GT Championship.

Nick Catsburg and Albert von Thurn und Taxis claim first victory for the Gallardo R-EX in the Blancpain Sprint Series.
High summer temperatures of around 30 degrees made Reiter Engineering’s outing in the Blancpain Sprint Series in Moscow far from easy. A busy schedule compressed into just two days didn’t help matters either. However, from first free practice the team from Kirchanschöring concentrated on working on the Gallardo R-EX set-up with drivers Nick Catsburg and Albert von Thurn und Taxis.
Catsburg / von Thurn und Taxis were among the top 5 in every session, a perfect position for the all-important qualifying session. Albert von Thurn und Taxis completed the first qualifying session and drove just one fast lap. Nick Catsburg ensured that the team would make the cut for third qualifying after he recorded the first lap in his qualifying segment.
Catsburg then clinched his Reiter Engineering team’s long awaited pole position in the Blancpain GT Series by more than one tenth of second. The Dutchman would be the start driver for the weekend’s first race.
Catsburg left no doubt about his intentions.
