Neues Team im ADAC GT MastersNew team in ADAC GT Masters

“team flatex-reiter”, a new name for the three Lamborghini Gallardo of Reiter Engineering. Form the second race weekend of the ADAC GT Masters at the Nuerburgring the GT3 will race und their new entry. Flatex, Germanys cheap online-broker, was active as a Sponsor of Christopher Haase.

Four podium finishes boost Lamborghini
The Australian GT Championship grid continues to grow. Twenty-eight GT3 cars appeared for the third event of the 2008 season which was part of the Formula 1 GP support programme. Mark Eddy and Ross Lilley, second in the Drivers’ Championship prior to the Melbourne, represented the colours of the Lamborghini bull.

Constant performance in Australia

Two Gallardo now in thick of the action
A significantly larger field arrived at t he second round of the Australian GT Championship in Adelaide for the Clipsal 500. Although Ross Lilley was the Gallardo camp’s lone fighter in Eastern Creek, he received support this time from debutant Mark Eddy, who had acquired the car of Bryce Washington. In qualifying the two matadors positioned themselves at the front of the field in 4th place (Lilley) and 6th place (Eddy).

Ross Lilley in upward trend
Ross Lilley contested the first round of the Australian GT Championship in Eastern Creek as sole Lamborghini representative. As part of the A1 GP Series supporting programme three sprint races were scheduled for the mixed GT field.

The first event in 2008 with Lamborghini participation was the Grand Prix of Sao Paolo. Paulo Bonifacio and Sérgio Burger took to the grid for this 1,000 kilometre race in a Reiter Engineering built Lamborghini Gallardo GT3, in which they had successfully entered the Brazilian GT3 Series last year.

Lamborghini FIA-GT3 EuropameisterschaftFIA-GT3 Europameisterschaft:

The FIA GT3 armada travelled to Dubai for the final round of the championship. The last two sixty-minute races were on the agenda at the circuit located in the desert. S.Berg Racing sent three Lamborghini Gallardo to the Middle East, including the Swiss professional racer Jean-Denis Deletraz, who steered a Gallardo together with his countryman Lloyd la Marca.

International GT Open Barcelona::

No less than seven Lamborghini Gallardo GT3s (four of them as guest entries) were entered for the final race of the International GT Open at Barcelona. A total of 25 cars in the GTS category, including the competition from Ferrari, Dodge, Porsche, Aston Martin and Marcos, lined up at the start.

Reiter Engineering driver Christopher Haase concluded a successful season with a highlight at the Adria Raceway. Haase made his first steps towards a potential career boost around the tight and twisty circuit 50 kilometres south of Venice. The 19-year old Haase sat at the wheel of a GT1 Lamborghini Murciélago R-GT for the first time. “

Up and downs for the Lamborghini teams

Australian GT: Bryce Washington heads the leader board
Three wins at Oran Park catapulted Bryce Washington in his Natrad Radiators & Auto Air Lamborghini Gallardo to the top of the Australian GT Championship standings. Even though Washington only started competing in the series at the second round with the GT3 Gallardo, he immediately proved to be the strongest competitor for Ferrari driver Allan Simonsen, who already had three wins to his credit at this time.

Brazilian GT3: Black weekend for Lamborghini
Alceu Feldman and Paolo Bonifacio had a tough weekend. Both Feldman and Bonifacio qualified third quickest in qualifying and secured a good position to defend their championship lead from in the race in the process. Bonifacio quickly made up ground during the first half of the race and was within striking distance of the leader.

Italian GT Monza: Two wins to round off the season
Even though Giacomo Piccini and Giovanni Berton had already clinched the championship in the GT3A Class with the MIK Corse Gallardo, the two Italians chose not to rest on their laurels during the final event of the season.

French GT Magny Cours:
Almost a perfect season finale The First Racing drivers aimed to finish the season on a high after having taken third place in qualifying. In the first race on Saturday there was only one outcome possible. One-two for the Lamborghini Gallardo GT3 ahead of the archrivals from the Ferrari camp!

Spanish GT Jerez: Lamborghini guest race
Sainz de Baranda and Antonio Torres lined up once again in the Spanish GT in their Gallardo GT3 at the final in Jerez. Torres qualified in nineteenth position in the large 30 car field. Unfortunately, de Baranda / Torres were unable to reap the benefits of their good qualifying performance as they retired in both races.

Epilogue Brno: Strong performance by S.Berg Racing
In spite of the stiff competition in the shape of DTM cars and faster GT1 and GT2 cars the S.Berg Gallardo with Urban / Urban / Charouz at the wheel was able to finish in eighth position and a place in the top-ten in the traditional 6-hour race in Brno.

FIA-GT Zolder: Points for Reiter Engineering

Peter Kox and Jos Menten were forced to tread carefully in free practice since they had fewer tyres at their disposal after missing a race and as stipulated by the regulations.
