ADAC GT MASTERS - NURBURGRING-2 27.- 29. August

Albert von Thurn und Taxis/ Peter Kox remain top of the league.

Despite the failure in the first race on the Nürburgring the Reiter Engineering drivers could defeat the table leading in the ADAC GT Masters.

With now 50 kg more weight from the success Reiter Engineeering traveled to the Nürburgring with the Lamborghini Gallardo LP 560 GT3 from Peter Kox and Albert von Thurn und Taxis. with position 8 for the first race a good standing was reached in the qualifying for the 60 minutes long races. But Peter Kox on top of that captured the pole position for the second race on sunday.

Albert von Thun und Taxis completed the start on saturday, but had to pay tribute to the high driving quality of the german GT3 series. A big car weight and hard fights on the track took its toll, a position win was not possible at this time. Peter Kox took over at the middle of the race and started a new try to bring the Reiter Engineering Gallardo ahead. Unfortunately the catch-up race ended at the beginning of the Mercedes Arena in a crash with a competitor. The race control saw the fault on Kox's side and put the Lambprghini Gallardo back 5 places in the second race.

So Kox had to start the second race from the sixth position. The longtime Reiter Engineering driver could take over two cars during his stint and gave the car to Albert von Thurn und Taxis standing on 4. The young driver from Regensburg delivered enjoyable one on one fights and could get to the third position for a short time. Only a few rounds before end the situation got tough on the track, when the cars on slicks got confronted with the now wet ground. The grip of the tires got less and less every round, but Albert von Thurn und Taxis kept his Gallardo on the track. At the last turn he could over take the strongest championship competition and finished as fifth.
