Reiter Engineering returns to the Nürburgring 24-hour race with a development project

08.05.2026

Kirchanschöring, May 2026 – For the team, competing in the 24-hour race is far more than a standard race. The Nordschleife, with its nearly 25 km length, extreme elevation changes and unpredictable Eifel weather, is regarded worldwide as the benchmark for technology and development. There is no other place where new systems, components, and drivetrain solutions can be tested under comparable levels.

For the race, Reiter Engineering will travel to the Nürburgring with a young team of around 40 people (average age: 28), consisting of construction and development engineers, and mechanics. The team intentionally has only a few experienced engineers but is deliberately made up of young talents who are specifically trained within the company For years, Reiter Engineering has invested heavily in training the next generation and gives young development engineers the opportunity to take direct responsibility at the racetrack and gain practical experience at the highest level.

“As a motorsport development team, , Reiter Engineering needs racing. In reality, we are not a typical race team where everything revolves around racing all year long. At Reiter, races are more like training camps for our engineers and prototype builders. In motorsport, success is not determined by the driver alone, but by the entire team. Motorsport is one of the few sports where EVERYONE – regardless of physical fitness – can contribute to success through their own efforts. We see ourselves as a competition-driven team, even when we are not actively racing. This constant drive to go ‘higher, faster, further’ defines the way our company works. For us, motorsport means continuously competing against much larger rivals while still striving to be better. Without that motivation, what we do every day would no longer be our passion, but simply work. At Reiter, you truly feel at home if you are a real competitor at heart. That is exactly why the people here are always motivated – and that is what we are now bringing to the Nürburgring.”
 — Sabrina Reiter, Team Principal

At the center of the 2026 project is the modified KTM X-BOW GT2, which Reiter Engineering will field in the innovation-friendly SPX class. The category deliberately allows room for technical modifications and new solutions that are often restricted by regulations in traditional GT classes.

The team will be supported by drivers Miklas Born, Arne Hoffmeister, Marcel Marchewicz, and Laurents Hörr. Together, they provide the team with a strong combination of speed, composure, and experience necessary to successfully complete the race.

“The deployment of the KTM X-BOW GTX on the Nordschleife reflects our ambition at Reiter: standing still is not an option for us. We do not just want to prove ourselves on track, but to continuously evolve as a team and keep looking ahead. Our strength lies in finding solutions rather than focusing on concerns. Even when it is uncomfortable, we critically re-evaluate our own previous developments and consistently refine them to create a better end product. The SPX class gives our young and hungry team the opportunity to put this philosophy into practice on one of the most demanding racetracks in the world.”
 — Bernhard Ehrlich, Head of Engineering

Even before the 24-hour race, the team used the Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie (NLS) as a development platform. The races in the traditional championship served as intensive preparation, enabling the team to further optimize the car, procedures, and technical systems under competitive conditions, already resulting in the team’s first class victory at NLS3.

For 25 years, the Upper Bavarian company has stood for uncompromising engineering in GT racing. Reiter Engineering developed, among others, the Lamborghini Gallardo GT3, the Sareni Camaro GT3, and several evolutionary stages of the KTM X-BOW up to GT2 and GTX specifications. Altogether, the company’s vehicles have achieved more than 750 podium finishes, around 300 victories and over 300 pole positions.

The return to the Nürburgring therefore marks not only a GT racing comeback, but also the consistent continuation of Reiter Engineering’s philosophy of using motorsport as a development platform for high-performance, sustainable, and safe technologies.

Ausbildungsroas 2026: Inspiring the Next Generation

27.04.2026

Trostberg, April 2026 – Reiter Engineering celebrates a successful day at this year’s Ausbildungsroas, connecting with the region’s future workers. Our stand became a hub of inspiration, where students gained firsthand insight into high-end vehicle construction and the diverse career paths we offer, from Mechanics and IT to Sales.

The atmosphere was electric, highlighted by two icons of our engineering heritage: a KTM X-BOW and a Lamborghini Gallardo. These vehicles served as evidence to the precision and passion that define our daily work.

Beyond the technical excitement, we were honoured to welcome Konrad Baur and Andreas Danzer to our stand. Both politicians experienced the KTM X-BOW cockpit personally while discussing our role as a regional employer and our deep commitment to vocational training.

It was a sincere pleasure to show these aspiring professionals a glimpse of the innovative technologies they could master in their future careers. Reiter Engineering is proud to invest in the craftsmen of tomorrow and thanks all guests for their incredible enthusiasm.

The Art of Engineering. Education Empowered for Tomorrow.

Reiter Engineering Triumphs at NLS3 with Class Victory

13.04.2026

Kirchanschöring, Bavaria – Reiter Engineering returned to the "Green Hell" this past weekend (April 10–11, 2026) for NLS3, continuing their intensive development program with the KTM X-BOW GTX. Following a productive season opener, the team arrived at the Nürburgring with a refined line-up and a clear mission: to verify the setup progress made in recent weeks. The team’s competitive edge was further strengthened on Saturday as Marcel Marchewicz joined the lineup to complete the lineup for the race.

Friday – Optimal Conditions for Technical Refinement

Friday’s test sessions began under clear skies, though the Eifel air remained chilly, the conditions were described by the drivers as "optimal" for gathering clean data. The drivers spent the day going through various setup configurations, utilizing the cool temperatures as a baseline for engine and tire performance analysis. Across the board, the feedback was positive mainly in the car’s balance. The objective was to validate engineering data on track, by the final stint, the team had finalized the setup for Saturday’s qualifying and race.

Saturday – Qualifying and Fan Interaction

Saturday brought a slight rise in temperature, offering favorable conditions for the timed sessions. During qualifying, the drivers pushed the KTM X-BOW GTX through a series of flying laps, navigating the typical Nordschleife traffic to secure P32 overall and 3rd in the SPX class. Following the tradition of the Nürburgring, the paddock was open to fans during the break, giving them a firsthand look at the final mechanical preparations before the race start. A large crowd of spectators gathered around the Reiter Engineering garage, getting a firsthand look at the work of the mechanics and the high-speed precision of the crew.

The Race – Class Victory and Top 10 Finish

The race proved to be the most successful outing of the season thus far, characterized by a seamless execution of the team’s strategy. Marcel Marchewicz took the start with a double stint, followed by Miklas Born for the third, and Arne Hoffmeister brought the car home in the final stint.

Post-race, the drivers were in agreement in their praise for the car’s evolution. They reported that the experimental adjustments and setup changes trialed on Friday represented a significant "step forward," resulting in flawless drivability and a highly competitive pace. Even with a track that wasn't "completely clean" during the final stages, the car remained predictable and fun to drive.

The consistency of the drivers, combined with the incredible work of the technical crew, allowed the KTM X-BOW GTX to climb significantly through the field. Reiter Engineering crossed the finish line with a spectacular 9th place overall and secured 1st place in the SPX class.

Looking Ahead

With a class victory and a top 10 overall finish in the books, Reiter Engineering has proven that their development continues as anticipated. The insights gained from NLS3 will be crucial as the team prepares for the final hurdles before the season's highlight.

Reiter Engineering kicks off the season at the Nürburgring

23.03.2026

Kirchanschöring, Bavaria – Reiter Engineering, bases in Kirchanschöring, Upper Bavaria, entered its 2022 in-house developed KTM X-BOW GTX in the SPX class as part of the Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie last weekend (March 20-21, 2026). With a driver line-up that includes Miklas Born, Arne Hoffmeister and Julien Apothéloz, the team will compete in selected NLS races this season to prepare for the 24-hour race at the Nürburgring. The campaign is part of a new, progressive development program aimed at further optimizing not only vehicle performance but also internal team processes.

Friday - Test Day and first rollout of the KTM X-BOW GTX

In contrast to the previous week, the Eifel weather showed its best side on Friday. Under sunshine and optimal conditions, Swiss driver Miklas Born, now in his third season with Reiter Engineering, completed his first laps in the newly foil-wrapped KTM X-BOW GTX.

The focus first was on setting up the car around the Grand Prix circuit to ensure that vehicle and team were perfectly in sync. As part of the current development project, the engineering team was represented at the track with a larger crew than in previous years. For many engineers involved, this marked their first direct involvement in race operations. The goal of the day was therefore not only to test the car but also to practice working together under race conditions and to solidify procedures in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

A midday interruption provided an additional opportunity to analyze data and identify issues with the car. Shortly thereafter, the KTM took to the Nordschleife for the first time.

In the afternoon, Julien Apothéloz took the wheel, driving not only for Reiter Engineering for the first time but also in the KTM X-BOW GTX. Arne Hoffmeister then got behind the wheel, putting in more important laps as an experienced Nordschleife driver.

Saturday - Qualifying and Race in cool but sunny conditions

The weather remained nice on Saturday as well, though temperatures were cooler. Following a successful scrutineering on Friday, the car was prepared in accordance with the current BoP, which was based on the car´s most recent outing on the Nordschleife.

Qualifying began at 8:30 a.m. Miklas Born completed two laps on the Grand Prix circuit and then switched to the Nordschleife. However, several Code 60 phases and traffic made it difficult to get a clear lap.

After about half an hour, the car came into the pits for a driver change and Julien Apothéloz took over. Running on used tires and refueled, he completed several more laps on the Nordschleife, securing second place on the grid in the SPX class and 38th overall.

Many spectators used the time between qualifying and the race start to get a close-up look at the X-BOW. With its eye-catching wrap, the X-BOW proved to be a real head-turner and a crowd favorite.

The Race - A solid start with important insights

The KTM X-BOW GTX started in the first starting group in a highly competitive field of 132 cars. Julien Apothéloz took the wheel at the start and stayed out of incidents in the early stages. In the opening laps, the team primarily had to hold up against Cup Porsches, while their direct competitor from the SPX class had started further ahead in the race.

After an hour, the first scheduled pit stop took place with a driver change to Miklas Born. After the stint, the car was in 23rd position, about four minutes behind the leader. Born then completed a double stint and navigated the car through traffic on the Nordschleife without any issues.

Arne Hoffmeister took over the cockpit for the final stint. The experienced Nürburgring driver drove a clean and controlled race and finished the race in P2 in the SPX class and 27th overall.

Coming up
For Reiter Engineering, the season opener served primarily as an important test under race conditions. In addition to further development, the focus was on optimizing team processes and collecting data for the 24-hour race.

With a trouble-free race and numerous insights gained, the team draws a positive conclusion and looks forward to the upcoming events at the Nürburgring:

  • NLS3: April 10–11, 2026
  • 24h Qualifiers: April 17–19, 2026
  • 24h Nürburgring: May 14–17, 2026

Two races, tons of action: Here is what went down at Le Mans

14.07.2025

The third round of the 2025 Michelin Le Mans Cup saw Reiter Engineering take on the legendary Circuit de la Sarte from 11th to 14th of June, forming part of the iconic 24 Hours of Le Mans program. With a modified format in place for this round, it was a week full of ups and downs - featuring unpredictable qualfiying sessions, setbacks and strong recoveries in the races.

Wednesday - Finding the pace and early setbacks

Race week kicked off with two Free Practice sessions on Wednesday. Both cars took to the track to gather data and adjust to the long and demanidng layout of Le Mans. The #77 had a clean FP1 session with Horst Felbermayr behind the wheel, finishing P7 in class, until it was hit by another car after the checkered flag, sidelining it for FP2 due to necessary repairs.

Meanwhile, Miklas Born placed the #25 car 11th in class in FP1. In FP2, Bence Valint took over and put in a solid run, ending the session P10 in LMP3 class.

Thursday - Qualifying chaos and Race 1 comebacks

Qualifying at Le Mans was as unpredicatble as ever. Multiple red flags and slow zones disrupted both sessions, leaving neither Reiter car with a representative lap time. With only four cars managing to set a lap in Q2, the starting grid for both races was ultimately based on Free Practice results. This meant a clear disadvantage for car #77, which hadn´t run in FP2.

Despite starting further back than planned, both cars delivered strong recovery drives:

Horst Felbermayr in the #77, starting from P28 overall, dropped to P31 at the start but climbed steadily throughout the race. By lap 9, he had reached P10 in class. With a steady pace, Horst Felix Felbermayr crossed the fnish line P6 in Pro/Am class and P25 overall. A good effort after limited running time in FP2 and Qualifying.

The #25 started in P13 and gained ground immediately. A crash on lap 1 brought out the Safety Car, allowing the car to settle in P9. An overtake in lap 5, a well-timed pitstop and a strong second stint allowed the car to finish P8 overall and in class, securing valuable points for the championship.

Saturday - Redemption in race 2

After a day of rest, the final race of the weekend offered another chance for redemption.

Starting from the back of the grid in P39, car #77 gained two places before starting-procedure chaos brought out the first Safety Car of the race. A clean and calculated drive brought the car up to P26 overall and P11 in the Pro/Am class, just missing out on points.

The #25 with Bence Valint starting from P14, briefly dropped back in the field but recovered well after the first restart. By lap 2, he had charged through to P11. A clean pit stop and driver change to Miklas Born mid-race allowed the car to rejoin in P10. Born kept pace with the leading cars and even gained some positions. He continued to benefit from incidents in the second half of the race and crossed the line in P5 overall and in LMP3 class.

Midseason standings - still in the fight

With the Le Mans round completed, the Michein Le Mans Cup reaches ist halfway point. Reiter Engineering remains firmly in the championship fight.

#77 climbs to 7th in the Pro/Am standings, showing consistent progress.

#25 drops to 6th in the LMP3 standings but stays well within reach of the title fight with 21 points missing to the top.

Next stop: Spa-Francorchamps

With Le Mans in the rearview mirror, Reiter Engineering shifts ist focus on the historic Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium. Located in the Ardennes, the track offers new challenges. But with both cars in the top 10 in their class, the team is ready to tackle the second half of the season.

Reiter Engineering is back on top in Le Castellet

02.06.2025

The weekend of 02.05.-03.05.2025 marked the second round of the 2025 Michelin Le Mans Cup at Circuit Paul Ricard in Le Castellet, France. For Reiter Engineering, the weekend was a successful and promising outing that showed the payoff of weeks of hard work leading into the season. With both cars now sitting in the Top 10 standings of their respective category, and a podium finish for car #25, the team has proven itself to be a championship contender.

Friday - Finding the rhythm

Free Practice 1 was all about getting back into rhythm on the fast, technical layout of Paul Ricard. Miklas Born in the #25 car, already familiar with the circuit, delivered a strong session, finishing P6 in LMP3 class and P7 overall, just behind one Pro/Am car. In the car #77, Horst Felix Felbermayr made his LMP3 debut at the track, ending the session  P13 in LMP3 Pro/Am and P29 overall.

His teammate Horst Felbermayr further improved in the Bronze Driver Collective Test later on, securing P9 and gaining valuable track time.

Back with all cars on track for Free Practice 2, it was time to further improve the setup in time for qualifying and the race. Bence Valint collected some decent first laps in his #25 LMP3 car around the track, putting it in P7 in the category, P10 overall. Horst Felbermayr delivered a clean session, placing his #77 car P10 in the Pro/Am category, P27 overall. A promising start to the weekend and all to play for the following day.

Saturday - Ready to set some fast laps

Qualifying was satisfactory despite being eventful. The LMP3 session was interrupted after seven minutes due to a crash that caused a red flag. Once the barriers were repaired again and the session resumed, it came down to a final 8 minute sprint. Miklas Born rose to the occasion and placed the car #25 in P3, just two-tenths ahead of P4.

In the Pro/Am session, Horst Felbermayr put car #77 on P5 in class -  a strong  effort, setting the stage for a competitive race later that day.

Saturday - Time to race

Car #25 had a clear goal: securing a spot on the podium. Bence Valint, who drove the first stint, had a strong start and was able to battle for place 2 in the opening lap. A Safety car  was deployed just three minutes into the race due to  debris, neutralizing the early gaps. After a Full Course Yellow  40 minutes into the race, the Reiter Engineering car loss a position and  was down to P4. Shortly after the pit window was opened, another Safety Car was deployed,  the team took the chance for their pitstop. With a little more than one hour to go, #25 car entered the pits. The pitstop and driver change went smoothly, Miklas Born, who entered the car for the second stint rejoined the track in provisional  P3. Born managed to hold on to P3 until the very end, with last lap drama, when there was three cars fighting for the second place. He briefly managed to get a hold of p2, but was overtaken again. A podium finish in the end put a satisfying end to the day.

Car #77 started its race in the midfield. With Horst Felbermayr behind the wheel for the first stint, the car  managed to keep out of the chaos in the opening laps. During the Safety Car in the early stages of the race, he held the car in P4 in the Pro/Am category, P21 overall. The car was close to P3 in the Pro/Am class over the entirety of the first half of the race, with half a second of a gap. Staying out longer during the pit window gave the team a brief on-track P2 as others ahead pitted. Shortly after the #25 car came in, #77 followed with one hour to go in the race and rejoined in P4 Pro/Am. Horst Felix Felbermayr continued to gain one place in his stint, but lost two after the green flag came on after another Safety Car. A second pit stop of the car with 10 minutes to go put the car back in P7 in the category. Felbermayr finished the race in P8 in Pro/Am category, P19 overall.

These results put both Reiter cars as well as its drivers  in the Top 10 standings of the championship, the #25 in third and the #77 in tenth.

Weekend reflections - Driver voices

"We had a good speed in both practices from the start on, and were able to finetune the setup. With p3 in Quali we had a great "Ausgangslage" for the race aswell. Bence drove a very strong start and first stint. I took over the car on p3 and was able to bring it into the finish in p3 with a very hectic last round. We can be very happy with p3 this weekend. Now theres a small summer break before ist time to focus on Le Mans" - Miklas Born on his weekend in Le Castellet

"For me it was an amazing race and most importantly a really promising step for us as a team. Compared to Barcelona we improved a lot and it is an amazing feeling to be fighting for the podium. Let´s keep this momentum going and try to push even harder for Le Mans" - Bence Valint on the team´s progress at Paul Ricard

Looking ahead - Le Mans in sight

After a clear step forward from the first round in Barcelona, the team is heading into a short summer break full of confidence. With both cars improving steadily and a first podium in the books, all eyes are now on the next challenge: Le Mans, France.

Reiter Engineering expands lineup in the Michelin Le Mans Cup in 2025

12.03.2025

Building on a strong 2024 campaign in the Michelin Le Mans Cup with Horst Felbermayr and Miklas Born, Reiter Engineering is set to take the next step in Prototype Racing - entering two competitive LMP3 cars in the 2025 championship.

The challenge

Since debuting in the Michelin Le Mans Cup in 2022, Reiter Engineering has established itself as a strong contender. The German team made an immediate impact to the championship, finishing as vice-champions in their inaugural season with Freddie Hunt and Mads Siljehaug. Now, with continous improvement from the team and an upgraded version of the car, Reiter Engineering is ready to return to the fight with the new Ligier JS P325.
Building on the lessons learned of recent seasons, the team has been working tiredlessly behind the scenes to master race operations, optimize their performance and assemble a driver lineup capable of consistently challenging for podiums. With invaluable experience gained over the past years, Reiter is confident that its expanded two-car lineup will further strengthen its position in the highly competitive LMP3 field.

The drivers

The team´s strength will be reinforced by a balanced driver lineup, combining seasoned experience with youthful talent.
Joining forces on our #77 car will be the family duo Felbermayr. The 19-year-old Horst Felix Felbermayr will make his prototype debut in this year´s season, making the switch from GT cars to the LMP3. The silver FIA-rated driver brings experience from ACO championships such as the Ligier European Series, where he finished fourth overall in his debut season, and from various Carrera Cup championships, such as Germany, Benelux and Italy.  He is joined by his father Horst Felbermayr, who enters his second season with the team. As a seasoned endurance racer, he has competed in the European Le Mans Series, the Michelin Le Mans Cup and various GT championships.  With years of prototype and GT experience, his knowledge will be a key asset to the team.
Attempting to achieve the maximum in 2025 will be the two silver FIA-rated drivers Miklas Born and Bence Valint with the #25 car. Born, who already competed with the team in 2024, will make his comeback, hoping to build on his experience. The 21-year-old Swiss driver brings solid endurance racing experience, having competed in GT World Challenge Europe, NLS and the Michelin Le Mans Cup. There, he has proven his ability to adapt to different race formats and conditions and is now ready to fight.
He will be joined by Hungarian driver Bence Valint, who has proven his talent in both single-seaters and GT racing. A former Italian F4 competitor, Valint made a name for himself in the Ferrari Challenge, clinching the 2024 World Final title in Imola. With a strong record of consistency and racecraft, he is set to bring fresh energy and determination to the team´s title ambitions.

The calendar

The 2025 season of the Michelin Le Mans Cup will consist of 6 rounds, kicking off at the Circuit de Barcelona- Catalunya from April 3rd to 5th. Following the ELMS Championship across Europe, Round 2 will take place from May 1st to 3rd in Le Castellet. Returning to the roots of the Championship, the cars will make a stop at the legendary Le Mans from June 11th to 14th.
After a short summer break, track action will resume from August 21st to 23rd at Spa-Francorchamps. As a new addition to the calendar, Silverstone awaits the grid from September 11th to 13th, before heading to the ultimate round in Portimao from October 16th to 19th.

Satisfying season finale at the Ultimate Cup in Le Castellet

19.11.24

The Reiter Engineering team secured first place in the class standings   after competing in the final race of the Ultimate Cup season at the Circuit de Paul Ricard in Le Castellet with their Ligier LMP3 (07.11.24 to 09.11.24).

After an overall challenging season, where the team often found themselves battling at the back of the field, Bronze drivers Stephan Rupp and Nicolas Chartier were able to prove their skills once again in the season finale. With a determined attitude and a clear goal of reaching the podium, the team, together with the mechanics, approached the race weekend.

In the opening practice session, the Reiter Engineering team showed solid pace, securing an encouraging 8th-place position. However, as the weekend progressed, they faced some setbacks, dropping to 29th and then 19th in subsequent sessions. Despite these challenges, the team maintained their focus and kept pushing forward, ready to tackle the upcoming qualifying sessions.

Rupp kicked off qualifying by securing P28 for the team, while Chartier followed up with a 30th-place position. In the final session, Rupp found additional pace and improved to 25th, placing the Ligier 29th on the grid for the 4-hour race.

At the start of the race, Chartier managed to gain several positions in the #57 car in the early laps. While some competitors had already completed their pit stops, the team chose to stay out on track and improved to 4th place. However, in the following laps, they lost some positions again. A yellow flag period between laps 39 and 42 then allowed for the planned pit stop, saving the team some time, but they still dropped back to the rear of the field.

After the stop, the team fought hard to make their way back up to 21st place overall. This also secured them 8th place in the LMP3 class and a victory in the Bronze classification.

This successful season finale allowed the two Bronze drivers to gain valuable experience before heading into the winter break. The win in the Bronze category served as a rewarding highlight for Rupp and Chartier, capping off a challenging but rewarding season.

Top 10 finish in season finale of the Michelin Le Mans Cup at Portimao

25.10.24

Last weekend (17.10.24 - 19.10.24), the Reiter Engineering team, together with its drivers Horst Felbermayr Jr. And Miklas Born, achieved a successful end to the season at the last race of the year in the Le Mans Cup at Portimao, Portugal. With a seventh place finish, the team secured its best race result of the season.

Right at the start of the race weekend at the Algarve, Born and Felbermayr Jr. showed that their LMP3 car can keep up with the strong competition. In both, the first and second free practice session, the pair made it into the Top 10,and

gave the entire team cause for optimism for the following sessions by finishing seventh and eight respectively.

Despite high expectations, Felbermayr was not quite able to maintain his performance in qualifying and only achieved 23rd position, from which he started the race the following day. He managed to maintain his midfield position during the start. As the race progressed, he managed to bring his car into contention for P18 despite numerous interruptions due to Safety Car periods and Full Course Yellow. After a good hour of racing and Felbermayr in 20th place, the next Safety Car interruption occurred. This allowed the team to time the pitstop perfectly, so that teammate Born started to catch up in the race from 15th position.

After two more yellow flags, Born crossed the finish line in tenth place thanks to his overtaking manoeuvres, several car retirements ahead of him and the right team strategy. The team thus achieved its best result of the 2024 season. Afterwards, the car with the number 50 was even classified in 7th position, as numerous penalties were imposed on vehicles in front of them.

With this successful finish, the team and its two drivers can now enjoy a well deserved winter break, before the 2025 season starts again.

Dutch debut in Prototype Cup Germany

22.02.23

More Motorsport will be the first Dutch team to participate in the Prototype Cup Germany with 19 year old Max van der Snel and his father Mark van der Snel. The team will compete in the Ligier JS P320. Three race weekends are part of the highly publicised DTM events and three race weekends are part of the ADAC Racing Weekends. In addition to the races at the Hockenheimring, Oschersleben, Nürburgring and Norisring, they will also be racing in the Netherlands at Zandvoort and the TT Circuit Assen. The LMP3 (Le Mans Prototype) car will be serviced and technical supported by the engineers and mechanics of Reiter Engineering, who have successfully participated in the Prototype Cup Germany and Michelin Le Mans Cup last season. With achieving the second place in the Michelin Le Mans Cup last year in their rookie season, Reiter Engineering is a good team to join forces with.

New challenge

This upcoming racing season for the first time a Dutch team will participate in the Prototype Cup Germany, in which teams and drivers from all over the world are competing. The Dutch racing team, More Motorsport, is represented by Max and Mark van der Snel. Their participation with the LMP3 in this racing series marks an important step forward for the team, which has previously raced at a national level.

“This is a dream come true for my father and me,” says Max van der Snel. “We have already raced together for the past two seasons, but competing in an LMP3 in the Prototype Cup at well-attended DTM and ADAC events is quite a challenge. We are pleased with the technical support from Reiter Engineering, who will assist us in the coming season to achieve maximum results together.”

Van der Snel duo

Max (19) has been racing since he was seven years old. Max made his debut in motorsport in 2021, when he took part in the Westfield Cup with his father Mark in a Westfield cup racer. In his first season he became Rookie of the Year. In 2022 he competed for the championship and finished as second overall. From the 26th to 28th of May the LMP3’s will compete during the DTM weekend at the Motorsport Arena in Oschersleben. Dutch fans can support More Motorsport from 23 to 25 June when the Prototype Cup visits the Zandvoort Formula 1 circuit. From July 7-9, the LMP3s will race again on the Norisring street circuit. The last two ADAC race weekends on the calendar: from 1 to 3 September at the TT Circuit of Assen and from 13 to 15 October at the Grand Prix circuit of the Nürburgring. The Prototype Cup Germany is organized by ADAC and Creventic.

Two young talents start in the winning car of the Michelin Le Mans Cup Portimao race

19.10.22

Next weekend (21 - 23 October 2022), Moritz Löhner, who is well known from SIM Racing, will make a guest start in the ADAC Prototype Cup Germany together with his German driver colleague Lion Düker as part of the ADAC GT Masters weekend.

At the Hockenheimring, the two young drivers will pilot a Ligier LMP3 prototype of the Reiter Engineering team. The team is by no means an unknown quantity on the scene. The team, based in Kirchanschöring, completed its first ever season with an LMP3 car this year and, in addition to two other podium finishes this season, was able to celebrate a victory at the final race of the Michelin Le Mans Cup last weekend and thus take second place overall in the team and driver championships. And in the ADAC Prototype Cup Germany, the team can already boast one victory and one third place.

Since Löhner and Düker know neither the race car nor the race format, the guest start will be a completely new experience for the two drivers.

Just two weeks after the season finale of the DTM Trophy, Moritz Löhner will climb back into a real cockpit. But this time he has to adjust to conditions that are new to him. In his motorsport career so far, the German has only gained experience in the GT4 class and will therefore use the first kilometers at the Hockenheimring to get to know the LMP3 prototype. In addition, he will have to share a car for the first time in his motorsport career.

The DTM Trophy driver will contest the weekend together with Lion Düker. The 20-year-old has experience in karting and in the Lamera Challenge so far, but was already able to show his potential there, as well as during a first test day in Cremona with the Ligier prototype and the Reiter Engineering team.

The races at the Hockenheimring will mark the end of the ADAC Prototype Cup Germany season. In the two free practices on Friday it will be important for the young aspiring drivers to adjust to the Ligier LMP3 prototype and to find together the right setup for both drivers. There will be two qualifying sessions (Friday and Sunday respectively), with only one driver completing a session at a time. The two races of the ADAC Prototype Cup Germany take place on Saturday and Sunday afternoon and last one hour each - with an obligatory driver change after about half the time.

Moritz Löhner: "After my DTM Trophy racing season was concluded at the Hockenheimring a week ago, I didn't really expect to be in the cockpit again so soon. So I'm all the more pleased to be coming back to the Hockenheimring and competing in an LMP3 prototype. Since my experience so far has only been limited to the GT4 class, I'm very excited about racing in LMP3."

Lion Düker: "I am very much looking forward to the weekend with the team and am grateful for the trust they have placed in me. After our test in Cremona, I can't wait to get into the car at Hockenheim and I'm especially happy to be able to compete with Moritz this weekend. I'm excited to see how we both get on with the LMP3 as it's a new challenge for both of us."

Sabrina Reiter: "After our great weekend at the Le Mans Cup in Portimao and the successes at the Nürburgring, we are even more pleased to be able to compete again in the last race of the season with these two young, up-and-coming drivers. Both have already shown in tests that they can handle the LMP3 well and of course we hope that we can take the momentum of the last victory to Hockenheim as well."

DEBUT VICTORY IN MICHELIN LE MANS CUP FOR HUNT/SILJEHAUG

24.09.22

In a dramatic race at Portimao Reiter Engineering drivers Mads Siljehaug and Freddie Hunt finally claimed the top step of the podium and ended a great rookie season with P2 in the championship.

After two podium finishes at Le Mans and Spa the duo was able to proof its consistent performance over the season with Mads Siljehaug taking the lead in the final minutes of a dramatic, red flag shortened race.

While the race started well for Freddie Hunt, taking up P2 after starting from 3rd position quickly, everyone was set to a hold when a crash during the safety car restart caused a red flag period.

To clear the debris and for repairs to the barriers to be carried out the race was put on a pause for 95 minutes. When the race was finally resumed, Freddie Hunt only had 1 more lap behind the safety car before he handed over the wheel to Mads in what was a perfectly executed pit stop by the crew.

When the race went green with 21 minutes on the clock Mads Siljehaug was challenging for the lead.

After another full course yellow period the race went green again with just under three minutes left. Quickly Mads made a move on the car in front and went into lead. At the chequered flag the no76 Reiter Engineering Ligier-Nissan crossed the line 2.5 seconds ahead. After several Top 5 and two podium finishes in the rookie season for the team, the win was just the perfect ending. This also secured the second place in the overall championship.

In it's first year in the LMP3 field the exeptionally young team (with an average age of 27) has left no doubt that they are already a big contender and more then ever read to go on the Hunt for LeMans.

LAST LAP THRILLER IN WET RACE AT SPA

24.09.22

Mads Siljehaug and Freddie Hunt take second place in first wet race for the team at spa after a passing by a competitor on the last lap.

Right before the race start the weather conditions have changed drastically and the race has been declared a wet race starting behind the safety car.

After his pole in qualifying earlier on the day, Freddie Hunt lead the field as first into the race. After 15min behind the safety car the race went green and Freddie took of in front and made the most of his pole position. He pulled away from the rest of the field as he had a clear track in front of him with no spray.

However, the safety car returned after just five minutes of green flag racing for further 22 minutes before the race could be resumed again.

After some more laps, Freddie Hunt came into the pits to hand over the Ligier to Mads Siljehaug. Mads could rejoin the track with an 18 second lead, which he extended out to 30 seconds.

The big gap in front of his competitors was not for long as the safety car had to return again. Mads made a good restart tough and was able to gain back 6 seconds in front of David Droux, on second place.

With 5 minutes of the race remaining Droux has been able to close the gap and challenging Mads at every turn. Siljehaug defended his position and Droux was forced to keep trying to find a way past the white Ligier. Siljeahug defended his position until the very last moment until a minor mistake a few corners from home cost Mads the lead. Siljehaug tried to regain the advantage at the last corner but it wasn’t to be and after leading for the entire race, Mads and Freddie had to settle for second.

BACK TO BACK POLE FOR FREDDIE HUNT IN MICHELIN LE MANS CUP

24.09.22

Freddie Hunt took his second pole position of the 2022 Michelin Le Mans Cup after a thrilling session in damp conditions at Spa-Francorchamps. The British driver posted a 2m14.883 lap in the no76 Reiter Engineering Ligier, which was just 0.027s ahead of the no11 WTM Racing Ligier of Germany’s Torsten Kratz.

The LMP3 session was red flagged after just three minutes when the no4 Nielsen Racing Ligier of John Melsom stopped on track and had to be lifted away before the session could resume.

Freddie Hunt posted the first time but then lost out to the no43 Racing Spirit of Leman Ligier of Jacques Wolff and then Torsten Kratz went even quicker.Hunt responded on the next lap, going 2nd and then into provisional pole. However, Kratz wasn’t done, and he posted a 2m14.910 with two minutes left on the clock.

Freddie Hunt then posted a 2m14.883 to go back into pole position, with Torsten Kratz unable to beat that time as the chequered flag was shown to end the session.

UNCOMPROMISING SUPER SPORTSCAR: KTM PRESENTS NEW KTM X-BOW GT-XR

08.09.22

The KTM X-BOW GT-XR is probably the closest you can get to a purebred race car in a road-legal vehicle. The super sportscar is the ideal lightweight and high-performance car for true individualists who want to experience untamed dynamics, radical design and pure enthusiasm in their everyday lives as well.

The basis for the KTM GT-XR, which is manufactured in Graz, Austria, is the KTM X-BOW GT2. The strengths of the race car are clear to see, with victories and title wins on international racetracks. All of the ideas, concepts and innovations for the KTM X-BOW GT-XR first had to be proven in a motorsport environment. Built on this successful foundation, every technical detail of the KTM X-BOW GT-XR has been developed to deliver absolute performance.

A super sportscar like no other

The result is a lightweight and aerodynamically efficient machine. Components tried and tested on the race track, such as the jet fighter canopy, the ultra-light carbon monocoque, the powerful five-cylinder engine and the removable steering wheel with integrated LED display are not available in this combination in any other road-legal super sportscar.

At the heart of the machine is the legendary turbocharged 2.5-litre, five-cylinder engine manufactured by Audi AG. It is more compact, lighter, more efficient and at the same time more powerful than comparable engines. With enormous amounts of torque available at low revs and its characteristic tone, the engine is a perfect match with the KTM X-BOW GT-XR’s radical philosophy. The electronically controlled seven-speed direct-shift gearbox (DSG) and a mechanical motorsport differential guarantees ultra-rapid shifting without dropping torque and limitless performance delivery to both rear wheels equally.

In the development of the KTM X-BOW GT-XR, the focus was on the essentials – without sacrificing unique features. Thanks to its puristic lightweight construction philosophy and the extensive use of carbon-fibre composite material, for example with the carbon monocoque, the super sportscar weighs only 1,130 kilograms (kerb weight), making every detail of this super sportscar is READY TO RACE.

Highest safety standards from motorsport

The exceptionally strong carbon monocoque is also a guarantee for the extraordinary safety standard of the KTM X-BOW GT-XR as well as the lightweight, extremely resistant roof construction – the jet fighter canopy. It consists of a carbon frame with a windscreen and separate glass doors that can also be opened to the left- and right-hand side. It can withstand roughly six times its own weight and can be opened and closed with ease using the remote control on the car key. The immense power of the super sportscar is braked by its lightweight monoblock fixed calliper brake system made from aluminium. Another safety feature is the carbon bucket seat, made entirely of carbon fibre composite material. It is extremely lightweight, offers strong support and provides reliable feedback to the driver in any situation. Thanks to the highly resilient four-point safety harness driver and passenger remain rooted to their seats even in extreme situations.

Perfection moulded into form

Even at first glance there is no doubt: the KTM X-BOW GT-XR is one of the most uncompromising super sportscars for the street. Its exciting design from KISKA combines outstanding performance with purist and provocative aesthetics. According to the motto "less is more", every unnecessary element has been avoided. Instead, the focus is on an unmistakable design language that relies on clear lines, sharp edges and smooth surfaces – wrapped in a silky-looking carbon outer skin. From the cutting vehicle front to the low-slung, wide chassis with its streamlined jet fighter canopy to the open rear, every component on the KTM X-BOW GT-XR radiates pure dynamism.

Aerodynamically efficient down to the smallest detail

The aerodynamics are also clearly derived from the race car, the highly successful KTM X-BOW GT2. Every detail has been designed for maximum aerodynamic efficiency. From the wedge-like body shape and the sleek and streamlined front surface of the car to the aerodynamically optimised wheel suspension, a floor section designed to maximise ground effect and the rear diffusor and streamlined wing, every effort has gone into to achieving the maximum amount of downforce at the lowest possible air resistance.

The new AirCurtain system is a world-first in a road-legal car and has been developed to create an aerodynamic ground effect that helps the car stick to the road. Vortices generated by the front spoiler and routed around the floor create a seal of air underneath the car and enhance the aerodynamic effect even further. The car’s low centre of gravity, coupled with the kind of aerodynamics and agile handling usually only seen on the race track, make the KTM X-BOW GT-XR a super sportscar that genuinely is READY TO RACE.

Comfort features for everyday use

Despite its outstanding driving performance, clever comfort features make the KTM X-BOW GT-XR fit for everyday use. Thanks to its low weight, economical engine and large fuel capacity, it is possible to go on long tours with distances up to 1,000 kilometres. Meanwhile, luggage can be stowed safely in the 160-litre boot. The individually designed, custom-fitted luggage items, developed in cooperation with the traditional brand Meindl, are available as an option.

The electrically assisted progressive power steering allows the driver to effortlessly drive the KTM X-BOW GT-XR over winding streets. At the same time, views can be enjoyed from the air-conditioned interior, while the camera rear-view mirror system – comprising a digital rear view mirror wide-angle parking camera and integrated LED interior light – provides the perfect all-round view. The digital rear view mirror can display the video from the rear view mirror camera system as well as the feed from the wide-angle parking camera, which is positioned lower down.

The smartphone as control centre also finds its appropriate place in the KTM X-BOW GT-XR. The centre console features a Quadlock® bracket that holds the device firmly in place, keeps it within reach and provides inductive charging. Two additional USB-C connections are also available for charging purposes. The smartphone can be connected to the vehicle and the sound system via Bluetooth pairing.

Strikingly high quality standards to redefine driving pleasure

Outstanding precision and build quality are the product of perfectly designed and coordinated production systems and processes. That's why the KTM X-BOW GT-XR is manufactured at the Graz plant – one of the most high-tech small-series automotive factories in the world – with its sophisticated vehicle logistics. Around 100 KTM X-BOW units are produced in the variants R, RR, GT4, GT, GTX and GT2 – and now also GT-XR – by a small team of specialists in accordance with outstanding standards of precision. Due to the limited edition, only a few KTM X-BOW GT-XR are still available in the 2023 model year. The most spectacular super sportscar on the market may be at the cutting edge of development, but it continues to be assembled by hand. Each and every KTM X-BOW is made with the greatest of care and a wealth of expertise, in accordance with the strictest quality standards.

The new KTM X-BOW GT-XR can be ordered now and starts at €284,900 (plus country-specific taxes and import duties). By means of European small series approval, the vehicle is available and approved for street-legal use throughout Europe.

First Victory in Prototype Cup Germany for Reiter Engineering

16.07.2022

In the first of the two races of the Prototype Cup Germany at Nürburgring Mads Siljehaug and Freddie Hunt took their first win of the season and the first ever win for the team with a LMP3 car.

Stepping in on short notice Mads and Freddie saw it as a perfect opportunity to get in more driving time before their next Le Mans Cup Race in Spa.

The two drivers adapted quickly to the track and set their first mark in free partice, leading the field.

While qualifying did not go quite as expected, Mads Siljehaug was confident to make up the positions from P4 again.

At the start Mads tried to stay out of trouble in the tight first corner and was able to hold his position. After the field had settled down he started to close the gap to his competitors in front and gained one position before the pit stop. Handing over to his teammate in third, Freddie Hunt came back out on track leading the race.  Due to the different pit stop times for driver pairings with Silver/Silver and Bronze/Silver drivers, Freddie came out on P1 after the pit stop with a comfortable gap to the rest of the field. He managed the gap calmly and took the win home for the team.

The win marks the first  ever with a LMP3 car for Reiter Engineering since starting the prototype activites at the beginning of the year. Now they are looking forward to race 2 tomorrow at 14:55 pm local time at the Nürburgring.

Freddie Hunt:

"Finally the result we’ve all been working for! I am so happy and proud, especially to win on our team’s home soil. Mads drove fantastically, his consistency was impeccable. A throughly enjoyable day and I can’t wait for tomorrow!"

Mads Siljehaug:

“Finally we got it. Couldn’t be more proud off all team members in Reiter Engineering. This tasted good and all the work we have done finally payed off. Huge thank you to Reiter Engineering and our partners for making this happen. Let’s go full in for tomorrow!”

Road to Le Mans Podium for Reiter Engineering

11.06.2022

Team Reiter Engineering takes a step on the most famous podium in motorsports in their just fourth race ever in the Le Mans Cup.

This weekend marked the season highlight with the Road to Le Mans taking place as support event of the famous 24h of Le Mans event. In the first race of the weekend the team already showed a promising performance and finished in 5th position after starting 15th on the grid. In the second race on Saturday Freddie Hunt started from P5 on the grid. Already in the first lap he was hunting down his competitors and made his way to a great 2nd place. During the pit stop window the team found the perfect timing and managed to send Mads Siljehaug out on P1. While a safety car quickly decreased the comfortable gap the team had to the rest of the field, Mads showed a great performance and brought the car home on the podium, marking the first podium for the team in the LMP3 category.

Team Manager Sabrina Reiter:

We are absolutely thrilled that we managed to grab a podium at Road to LeMans. Getting a podium in our first season in the Le Mans Cup is an absolut dream and a great reward for the crew. The whole team worked tiredlessly to learn about the car and improve it over the last months and it paid off. After we already showed a great performance yesterday, we really put in the extra effort to improve the setup further and managed to give the guys the perfect car for today. In the end Freddie and Mads got all out of the car and showed an incredible drive.

Freddie Hunt:

I am delighted with the result of the weekend . With such a new team I think we are making great progress, it really feels like we are moving in the right direction now. Bring on Monza!

Mads Siljehaug:

Finally we managed to put together all the hard work and get a well deserved result for team and drivers. It’s been a long and hard process adapting and understanding the car for me and the team, so to finally get it all together feels extremely good. Huge thank you to Reiter Engineering and Freddie Hunt for this podium position in this strong and competitive field and especially on Le Mans

Freddie Hunt signs 5- year contract with Reiter Engineering for Michelin Le Mans Cup

11.05.2022

Freddie Hunt, son of the legendary 1976 F1 World Champion, James Hunt, has signed a five year contract to drive with Reiter Engineering

After several years out of the sport the British driver, Freddie Hunt, has set an ambitious but not impossible goal of winning the 24 hours of Le Mans on the 50th anniversary of his father's F1 world title in 2026, dubbing it 'The Hunt for Le Mans'.

After a successful 20 years in GT racing the German based team, Reiter Engineering, have decided to branch into prototype racing. This came at the perfect timing for they had just met Freddie and heard about his ambitious plans to win Le Mans. Together they quickly formulated a plan. Their first step towards this goal is a season in the Michelin Le Mans Cup where they have entered a Ligier JS P320 car, a Le Mans Prototype (LMP3). A likely next step would be the European Le Mans Series, before going into the World Endurance Championship and finally competing in the 24h of Le Mans as part of the championship.

The Michelin Le Mans Cup is nevertheless not an easy task on the road ahead. With top professionals coming from around the world to compete, the European championship, which comprises 6 one-hour-fifty minute races and has two classes in it, LMP3 and GT3, has already shown to be highly competitive. A 42 car grid, the competing teams, made up of two drivers, one professional and one amateur, who switch half way through the race, are the perfect bar for the team.

Team principal Hans Reiter said:
Having signed a contract for the next five years means a lot of security for our future plannings. Additional to LMP3, I hope we will be able to give Freddie the opportunity to also race our KTM GTX and GT2 cars, in the near future. I am convinced he would love it. Now, we have to do everything, to see Freddie and his teammate Mads Siljehaug on a Le Mans Cup podium this year.

Freddie says:

"I am absolutely delighted to be given this opportunity with such a good team. After many years of dreaming about Le Mans with inadequate resources to act I can now finally have a good go at it. I just hope my age hasn't degraded my speed too much! I am a bit rusty after so many years with very little time on the track but I am confident with hard work and such a team behind me I can be competitive.“

Podium and DNF for Janits and Angermayr in Spa-Francorchamps

26.04.2022

In the first turbulent race of the Prototype Cup Germany with a Saftey Car phase the Austrian duo finished in third position. The second race on Sunday came to an early end due to an accident.

Florian Janits started in the first race on Saturday after an excellent performance in qualifying from P1 on the grid. At the start he was able to hold his ground against his opponents and stay in front. After two laps he had already gained a lead, which he unfortunately lost again due to a safety car phase.

The driver from Burgenland was able to keep his tyres at the right temperature during the laps behind the safety car and immediately pulled away again at the restart half an hour before the end of the race. By lap eight he already had a lead of over four seconds. On lap 10, he drove into the pits for the Drivers Change and swapped cockpits with his teammate Eike Angermayr. Due to the regulations, teams with a silver/silver driver combination, as well as Team Reiter Engineering, have a 10 seconds longer standing time at the pit stop than teams with a silver/bronze driver combination. For this reason, the team dropped back to 3rd place after the Pit Stop. Angermayr was able to fend off the attacks from Axel Jeffreys in a strong fight and Team Reiter Engineering finished the race in P3.

Florian Janits on his first race in the new Prototype Series in Germany:

"Unfortunately, there was a safety car phase very early on and I only had a few laps left to push. But I am satisfied with my performance. It's the first time for me in an LMP3 car here at Spa and generally only my third day in the car. P3 for the team is a good start, but we want more."

Eike Angermayr:

"As it was my first race weekend this year and in LMP3, I had to learn quickly! The jump from GT to LMP3 was a big one, but I was very happy with the progress I made over the test day. In the first race things heated up straight away and I had to defend 3rd place over several laps and was very happy with the podium!"

In the second race on Sunday, Eike started strong from P7 to P4. Unfortunately, he made a small mistake and the car spun and ended up in the gravel, which meant an early end of the race for the Team. Nevertheless, the team is looking positively at the upcoming races, as they were able to further improve the performance of the car.

Reiter Engineering enters Prototype Cup Germany with Ligier LMP3 car and drivers Janits and Angermayr

20.04.2022

The familiar Reiter drivers Eike Angermayr and Florian Janits will be in action again for the team in the 2022 season. They accompany a new era in the team's history, the entry into the Le Mans prototype class.

The Prototype Cup Germany is the exclusive series for Le Mans prototypes in Germany. Reiter Engineering starts into their first prototype racing season with a Ligier JS P320 in the Prototype Cup Germany with the Austrian driver duo Florian Janits and Eike Angermayr. Four race weekends at attractive racetracks in Belgium and Germany are planned for 2022. All races will be broadcast in full length via livestream on https://www.prototypecup.com/de/races/spa-francorchamps-2022.

Reiter sees the future of automobile racing not only in GT racing but also in endurance racing and is therefore continuing to focus its activities with the ADAC's new LMP3 series in order to achieve the goal "Road to Le Mans". Reiter already has a long and successful history in GT racing. Originally the team started with the GT1 of Lamborghini, then expanded the activities further with the GT3 Gallardo, with which a total of over 250 victories and 700 podium finishes were achieved, until they made the next step with KTM GT4, GTX and GT2. Now the team is focusing on the new series to gain more experience in the LMP3 field and thereby also expands their Endurance Race program. The additional knowledge gained in the Prototype Cup should take the team one step further towards the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

Florian Janits is looking forward to competing in the series:
“I am happy to be part of the new Prototype Cup Germany this year. The future will move towards endurance racing and therefore this platform offers a very good entry opportunity into this field. The calendar and the supporting programme offer sponsors and spectators a very attractive platform. I have been familiar with team Reiter Engineering for more than 2 years now and I am convinced that we will continue to develop over the season and do a good job.”

Janits will join forces with fellow Austrian driver Eike Angermayr, a familiar face in the Reiter Engineering team. Angermayer has won with the KTM X-BOW GT4 the ADAC GT4 Germany championship title in 2019 together with his former teammate Mads Siljehaug. In the 2021 season, he competed in a total of 4 race of the Creventic 24H Series, of which he achieved impressive three class wins and one second place.

Eike Angermayr:
"I am overjoyed to take the next step in my career together with Reiter Engineering and to compete in the Prototype Cup Germany! Of course, the transition from GT to prototype will not be easy, but I am motivated like never before and looking forward to this new challenge."

Solid 11th position and best rookie result at the first race of the Le Mans Cup at Paul Ricard

16.04.2022

Team Reiter Engineering finished the first race of the Le Mans Cup at Paul Ricard in 11th position, after a promising 6th place in Qualifying.

The start of the Le Mans Cup season is the beginning of a new era for Reiter Engineering. It was the first race with a LMP3 car and also for the drivers it was a new challenge. Both could not gain any experience with the car in advance, because they missed the only possible test due to a Corona illness (as well as 75% of the whole Reiter team). In qualifying, however, the team was able to convince and finished 6th. For driver Freddie Hunt it was the first time at Paul Ricard and in a LMP3 car. Nevertheless, Hunt was able to deliver a very good start and moved up to 4th position in the first few corners. In the first two laps, however, he already had to avoid a crash with two opponents and therefore fell back several places again. It was a hardfought race, and the driver duo Mads Siljehaug and Freddie Hunt could finish it on a good 11th position, which is the best result of a rookie team in the Le Mans Cup. The first weekend at Paul Ricard gave the team new insights about the car, which will need to be built upon in the following races to deliver an even better performance. Both the drivers and Reiter Engineering are confident for the season in the Le Mans Cup.

Sabrina Reiter: "We are very happy with our driver selection. With Freddie Hunt and Mads Siljehaug we have two top athletes in the cockpit. Now it is up to us to improve our knowledge of the Ligier LMP3 and to make further progress. Paul Ricard has made it clear that there is still room for improvement."

Reiter Engineering heading for Michelin Le Mans Cup in 2022 with Hunt/Siljehaug

16.03.2022

For the 2022 season Reiter Engineering is continuing the team’s wide range of activities over the past years by adding a full LMP3 program to the portfolio. Together with Freddie Hunt and Mads Siljehaug the team is ready to tackle a new challenge with a brand new Ligier JS P320 in one of the most competitive LMP3 championships, the Michelin Le Mans Cup.

After many years of close cooperation with the KTM brand, from participating in numerous championships with the KTM X-Bow GT4 and GT2 to being involved in the manufacture’s development efforts, the team is eager to also gain more experience in the LMP3 category.

Keeping its primary focus on the KTM brand, once again supporting the manufacture throughout various programs and championships as well as development work, the team is set on a new long-term goal: the 24h of Le Mans in 2024. Gaining first experience in the LMP3 category therefore seems the right step towards it.

While the team will see its inaugural season in the LMP3 category, the drivers are not completely unknown to the championship. Freddie Hunt has already competed in the championship in 2021 and is ready to finally set his marks in motorsports, following the footsteps of his legendary father James Hunt. Despite some earlier attempts in racing, Freddie decided to have some time away from the track in the past, focusing on his passion for the outdoors and polo. But now he is back on and eager to take his chance for a great racing career, aiming to compete in the 24h of Le Mans.

Together with co-driver Mads Siljehaug, Reiter works driver since 2017 and champion of the ADAC GT4 Germany in 2019, the team is all set to start into the new season. With Mads being part of the Reiter family for years now, he is just the right person to bring Freddie and the team one step closer to Le Mans.

Hans Reiter:

“Racing with Mads and Freddie will be fun. Both are of great and unique characters, inside and outside the cockpit. Mads, we know since many years and we have the highest expectations of him for 2022. Freddie is new to the team, our first meeting was last weekend during our “Company-Skiing-Day”, where he really impressed the team as a very wild Guy. After knowing each other for some hours we shook hands and now we are doing a Le Mans Cup season together, I love it, it’s going to be great.”

Freddie Hunt:

"I am delighted to be driving for Reiter Engineering this season in the Michelin Le Mans Cup. It's been a few years since I've had the opportunity to compete in a full season so I am really excited. Obviously, we will be going for the championship title and I believe we have a strong team but we will find out how strong we are at the first race."

Mads Siljehaug:

“Absolutely thrilled for me and my family team Reiter Engineering for making a step together into the LMP3 and LeMans Cup community. I personally enter the series and season with huge respect and humbleness for learning, working hard with the team and hunting for points and podiums – as always!”

Together they are ready to leave a mark on the 2022 season of the Michelin Le Mans Cup.
